Testimonials

"Vessey Academy provides structure that I think the bigger schools can't, at least in our experience... They are committed to these kids like nothing I've ever seen before... It's just amazing"

Vessey Online Education (V.O.L.E.)

Vessey Academy offers coursework online. This program was developed to serve students who struggle to make it to school all day or every day due to personal circumstances. Only students with extenuating circumstances making it difficult for them to attend school daily will be accepted into the V.O.L.E. program. This will be determined by our online advisor. Prior to V.O.L.E. approval, the student must register as a Vessey Leadership Academy student.

This program is not available to supplement regular all day attendance or to earn "extra credit"

Program and Student Approval

Attendance at Vessey Academy:

Based on Minnesota Online Learning Rules, you will be required to come to Vessey Academy once a week to review progress with our V.O.L.E. advisor. V.O.L.E. students may only be at Vessey Academy during approved times or with an appointment with a staff person.

Course Load/Academic Progress:
Full-time V.O.L.E. students will be registered for 3 classes. This means that you are scheduled for blocked classes. The normal workload for blocked classes is about 90 to 100 minutes per day. All online classes are year-long classes and result in earning 4 VLA credits. As a block scheduled students, you should complete each class in half the school year (about 18 weeks).

Use of Technology/Support:
Students enrolling in V.O.L.E. are expected to complete the work outside VLA. To do so, you will need a computer with internet connection, preferably a dedicated connection. You can work anywhere with computer connection, including libraries, etc.
