Post Secondary

At Vessey Academy, we understand that a major part of our mission is to prepare students for life after high school. We actively pursue this by helping our students plan for their future through the Transitions Program and by helping them access outside training programs through our Agency Collaborations.

Transitions Program

The purpose of the Transitions Program is to assist students in developing the interest, knowledge, and skills necessary to transition successfully out of high school and into their adult life. The Transitions Program is implemented during our advisory period but activities extend beyond that time. Below is a list of recent Transitions Program activities:

Agency Collaborations
As a small school focused on helping our students plan for their future beyond high school, we offer opportunities that are collaborated with outside agencies. This extends the opportunities available at Vessey well beyond the boundaries of our walls.

Post Secondary Options (PSEO):
This is a state program allowing juniors and seniors to attend college while still in high school at no cost. Credit earned applies both to high school towards graduation and as college credit once students graduate. Students must meet the college's criteria and go through the application process. They may take up to 80% of their classes through the PSEO program. Here is a list of colleges where our students have recently been enrolled in the PSEO program:

Concordia University Normandale College Anoka-Ramsey College
