Ice Cream Social

School Board Meeting & Elections

Vessey Parents...The Vessey Leadership Academy school board will be meeting May 24th, 2011, at 4 pm at Vessey Leadership Academy. This meeting will include the elections for the open Board of Directors' seats. Ballots will be forthcoming in the next few days. Hope to see you there!

Early Release

VLA will be releasing early today, March 23rd, 2011 at 12:20 due to the weather. We do plan on having school tomorrow but please check here to confirm.

Spring Break

Spring Break is March 28th through April 1st. Our school calendar is available under the Quick Links bar on the right.

Calendar Error

The school calendar that was sent home in the beginning of the year contains an error. On April 12th and 13th, it says that seniors do not need to report to school. Seniors DO need to report to school on April 12th and 13th. The school day will begin at 10 am for seniors only on those two days.  

Change of Leadership and Meeting

Vessey Leadership Academy welcomes Mr. Allaire as our new Interim Director for the remainder of the school year. Mr. Allaire previously served as our Lead Teacher for four years and Interim Director for the second half of the 09-10 school year. He is a state licensed principal with experience in administration from several other area high schools. Mr. Allaire will hold an open forum meeting for the public on Thursday, March 24th, 7 pm, at Vessey Leadership Academy.

Vessey Academy is still accepting applications for grades 9-11 for the 2010-2011 school year. We Are no longer accepting applications for grade 12.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

 Parent/Teacher conferences will be Wednesday, February 16th from 4-8pm and Thursday, February 17th from 1-5pm.

President's Day Schedule Error

Our original school calendar contained an error notating that President's Day was on February 14th. Please note that Vessey WILL have school on Monday, February 14th and WILL NOT have school on Monday, February 21st. 

SES Enrollment Forms

For parents that received SES enrolment forms in the mail: Please have them submitted to VLA by Friday, January 7th.  

School Closures

All Vessey closures will be listed on  Channel 4, Chanel 5 and Channel 11.

Parent/School Board Meeting

VLA will be having a parent meeting December 14th, 2010, 6pm, at Vessey Academy. This meeting is a chance for the board to meet parents and students, as well as introduce our new Executive Director, Angela Dye. Please send any questions or concerns you'd like addressed at this meeting to board@vesseyacademy.org.

VLA team takes 1st place in national competition, heads to Washington, DC!

We are pleased to announce the results of the 2009-2010 Army JROTC JLAB competition. Thousands of very bright cadets and dedicated instructors participated in this year's leadership and academic competition. Hundreds of teams qualified to advance to the second round of the Leadership and Academic Bowl in January. JLAB teams finishing in 1st place will travel to Washington, DC in June for a national competition. Congratulations to the 2010 JLAB teams!
