JROTC
The General Vessey Leadership Academy was approved to house a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program on December 1, 2003. We are very proud of our identification as a JROTC site.
Overview
General John Vessey Jr. Leadership Academy is a public military high school for Minnesota students. Most public schools offer military courses as electives. VLA is a comprehensive academic program in the military model emphasizing citizenship and leadership. Cadets have the opportunity to join a learning cohort and maintain that membership throughout their tenure at the Academy. The military model provides a safe, secure environment for each cadet and strengthens the community of the school. Cadets work as teams to support the individual achievement of each member.
