Vessey Online Education (v.o.l.e.)

Vessey Academy is now offering coursework online. This program was developed to serve students who struggle to make it to school all day or every day due to personal circumstances. Only students with extenuating circumstances making it difficult for them to attend school daily will be accepted into the V.O.L.E. program. This will be determined either through the Early Intervention team and/or approval by the school’s director.  Prior to V.O.L.E. approval, the student must register as a Vessey Leadership Academy student.

This program is not available to supplement regular all day attendance or to earn "extra credit"

Program & Student Approval

Attendance at Vessey Academy:
Based on Minnesota Online Learning Rules, you will be required to come to Vessey Academy once a week to review progress with our V.O.L.E. coordinator. Available times will be posted on the “V.O.L.E.” page of our website. V.O.L.E. students may only be at Vessey Academy during approved times or with an appointment with a staff person.

Course Load/Academic Progress: Full-time V.O.L.E. students will be registered for 3 classes. This means that you are scheduled for blocked classes. As a block scheduled students, you should complete each class in half the school year (about 18 weeks).

Use of Technology/Support: Students enrolling in V.O.L.E. are expected to complete most of the work outside VLA. You can work anywhere with computer connection, including libraries, etc… You also have access to at least 2 hours of computer per week at Vessey Academy. For a schedule of times available, visit the “V.O.L.E.” page on the school website.
